You can find some really stupid advice on the internet. Lol. I sweat in my head when I run. Profusely. My hair can be soaked when I’m done – especially after long runs, and especially now that it’s summer and hot. Why is this a problem? I have a relaxer in my hair. To keep it healthy, I minimize the heat that I put in it – this includes blow dryers and curling irons. This doesn’t work out so well if I’m running four times a week, and have to leave my house before noon for work. Lol.
I already know what I need to do to handle this – cornrow my hair and put in braids or a weave. But I thought I would check the Internet and see what advice they had for relaxed girls.
Everything I read was all relatively unhelpful – put your hair in a ponytail; wear a wrap scarf – those things don’t really work for heavy duty workouts. But then I came across this nugget of wisdom: switch up your workout routine. Try walking or something else where you don’t work up too much of a sweat.
Seriously? Just switch up? Do something that doesn’t have you sweat as much. Got it! Lol. Ok – I’ll try that and let you know how it works out.
By the way – is it paradoxical that I’m running a marathon to raise funds for a worthy cause and I’m stressing about my hair???? No, right? I didn’t think so either. Lol!
